The seminar is to share about LAYA's experience with respect to facilitating improved cooking (improved cookstoves), access to potable water(bio-sand filters), irrigation through renewable pumping systems (hy-dram). The speaker will essentially focus on the various problems that we face in actually working with these systems, the improvements organization has made already and offer the space to collaborate with the students of IIT in facilitating innovation where possible.
Bio-Sketch of the Speaker: "Siddharth DSouza (Assistant Director, LAYA) has been closely associated with climate-friendly projects for more than a decade. He has been involved in the design and implementation of various projects for cleaner kitchens (Improved cookstoves) and potable drinking water (Bio Sand Filters). His commitment is to enable access to environmentally friendly technologies and climate-friendly energy development policies, particularly for marginalized communities. He enjoys communicating his experience through training processes with young people and civil society actors new to the climate change field about climate-friendly technologies".
