Times of India recently published an article on Farm Ponds in Marathwada region and its impact on groundwater level. As per the article, the farm ponds which are conceived to catch and store rainwater will bring prosperity only if their numbers are limited and in line with the hydrology of the region. The article also quotes findings by Pooja Prasad, PhD Student from CTARA and Prof. Milind Sohoni on a similar sudy done here in CTARA.
