A jointly co-hosted workshop by IIT Bombay, NABARD and APAARI was held at Jal Vihar, Seminar-Hall, IITBombay during 6th-7th December 2018.
Eighty six participants attended the workshop. In all nineteen speakers shared their ideas and thoughts on the themes such as cereals, millets, vegetables, milk and diverse foods emanating from Agriculture; both production and post production issues including marketing of farm produce. Speakers and participants were from international research organisations, academic institutes, private sector, civil society and implementing agencies.
The Workshop aimed at experts exchanging ideas and learnings on fields related to sustainable farming, current agricultural practices and challenges, malnutrition abatement strategies, regional food and nutrition security challenges and related areas and possible cross learnings from the country-representatives facilitated exchange of ideas. The Plenary talk by Padmashri Dr. V. Prakash was on sustainable health and wellness through food based approach.
The Workshop ended with a Panel Discussion dedicated to bringing up action points for academic and research institutions for convergence and attainment of nutrition security through agriculture.
