CTARA’s M. Tech first-year student Aman Srivastava presented two abstracts at International Conference on "Climate Change Impact, Vulnerability and Assessment: Emphasis on India and Neighborhood" (CCIVA-2019) organized by department of CORAL, IIT Kharagpur between Feb 26 to Mar 2. The first one was based on the study of Vandiyur tank cascade system in Madurai, Tamil Nadu with the exploration of LULC change, rainfall and groundwater under the guidance of Prof. Pennan Chinnasamy (faculty at CTARA). The second one was based on the simulation of Kerala’s extreme rainfall and flood event that occurred in August, 2018 with an aim to forecast such extreme events with adequate accuracy and with reasonable lead time under the guidance of Prof. Sandeep Pattnaik, Head, School of Earth, Ocean and Climate Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar.
