For the better of the functioning of Participating Institutions in specific areas/states, IIT Delhi, which is the National Coordinating Institute (NCI), has formed various nodal institutions, known as Regional Coordinating Institutions (RCIs). CTARA, IIT Bombay has been designated to be the Regional Coordinating Institute (RCI) for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan based on its expertise and experience in development and dissemination of appropriate technologies in rural areas. 

CTARA, IIT Bombay acts as a nodal centre for promoting and facilitating UBA PIs network in the following regions - western Maharashtra (Konkan and Pune Division), Goa and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. 

To facilitate the implementation of UBA activities by Participating Institutions in their respective regions, RCI mandates to achieve the following objectives: 

  1. To convene various consultative meetings, conducting orientation programs and thematic workshops for its Participating Institutions. 
  2. Grooming Participating Institutions in their respective regions, in addition to helping them in carrying out their own cluster activities. 
  3. To facilitate, guide and monitor the activities of the Participating Institutes to create a tangible impact.
