About Topic:

Through this talk we will collectively explore the relationship between gender, science and technology. We will begin with trying to understand gender through our experiences of it within the family and educational settings and then look at the representation and experiences of various genders within the fields of science and technology globally and in India.  Representation of women and other gender minorities in science and technology are improving, but has that lead to a better or different science and technology? We will try to explore some of these questions primarily focussing on examples from within the biological sciences.
