CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Parimala Rao Award for Best Ph.D. Thesis
Nomintations are invited for the Parimala Rao Award to honour meritorious and early stage researchers for the best Ph.D thesis in the Centre for Rural Technology Alternatives for Rural Areas (CTARA), IIT Bombay. The award recognizes academic excellence and encourages young researchers in their contribution to rural development. This award has been founded by Professor Bakul Rao and Mr Prassana Rao in the memory of their mother to promote excellence in rural development and social sector.
Selection committee:
A selection committee will evaluate the applications and recommend the winner. The award winner will receive a sum of Rs. 10, 000. The announcement and felicitation will beconducted on the Degree Distribution Function of CTARA, IITB.
Nominations process:
- CTARA faculty, alumni, student, staff, project staff and individuals with professional association can nominate.
- Self-nomination is allowed for those who have completed their PhD from CTARA in the last three years.
- Last three-year nominations are carried forward; however, the award is received only once per person.
Last date for submitting applications: 4 August 2026
