Abstract:

The research aims to view Child nutrition policy and implementation in India from a multi-level perspective. Studying how policy processes are conceived and implemented at different levels of social organization (e.g., in international agencies, the central, state, district, regional, and community levels) will reveal which conditions and decisions may be competing in the planning and execution. Three themes proposed for a multi-level research approach are (I) Policy processes, (II) Inter and intradepartmental convergence (III) Monitoring and information systems. Mapping the processes and perceptions among actors at various levels will contribute to a better understanding of how child nutrition initiatives work or why they do not work and arrive at a research agenda toward a better child nutrition policy.
