A mechanical engineer turned Development professional, enthusiastic to create employment opportunities in rural and semi-urban areas of India through technology (end-to-end Innovation) in the field of agriculture, market linkages and rural entrepreneurship.

Internships: 

Rural Field Stay, Palaskhel, Atpadi, Sangli | NGO - SPKS | Prof. Bakul Rao | IIT Bombay   [May’ 19 – Jul’ 19]                                               

  a. Analysis of farmer diary and tapping its potential for decision support system  Used Microsoft Excel for data analysis of the data extracted from a diary written by a farmer in Atpadi taluka of Sangli district, Maharashtra. 

 Set different Social parameters, their Indicators for analysing trends and patterns in the farmers life to help in decision support.

b. Mapping of Soil variation of Palaskhel village and assessment of soil health card scheme.

 Mapped soil variation of Palaskhel village for 1400 ha area in 10 days with participatory approach.

 Gathered agriculture related data using KOBO collect form and digitalized map using QGIS.

 Studied Soil health card scheme’s result and Critiqued on implementation and discrepancy in result on government portal.

 Impact – Presented to Chairperson of Doubling Farmer Income committee . 
c. Village research of Palaskhel village 

 Stayed in the Village Palaskhel, Taluka Atpadi of Sangli district and carried out extensive Village research for 1310 population. Included Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) activities with Villagers of Palaskhel, Household Survey using KOBO Collect (Android Mobile Application) which covered Agriculture, Water, Education, Sanitation, Health, Migration, Energy and Government Schemes. 

 

Jain irrigation Systems limited | Jalgaon, Maharashtra|  [Dec’18 – Nov’18]

 Studied the Automated Micro Irrigation system at JISL, Jalgaon,  Studied the Ramthal Micro Irrigation Project carried out by JISL, Studied and Presented future Challenges and Opportunities in the field of Automation for small farmers in India

Rural immersion program in tribal village of Dang, Gujrat | NGO – AKRSP (I) | Srijan Foundation [ Dec’18]                                                                                                                                                                             Stayed with one of the poorest families of the tribal village in order to conduct anthropogenic study and also to analyze the cash flow of the family to understand their livelihood, Evaluated and critiqued works done by the NGO in village.

 Need identification for improving employment opportunities in the tribal settings.

 Assessing opportunities for organically grown local millet Nagali, through primary value addition with the help of SHGs. 

Key Projects: 

Designing Inclusive Value Chain for Organically grown Nagali (Local Finger Millet) in the Dang district of Gujarat | Prof. Arti D. Kalro | IIT Bombay 

 Need finding and need identification through qualitative and quantitative surveys of farmers, NGOs, SHGs. Collection of primary and secondary data to formulate problem statement. 

 Market research to identify status of Nagali , its production, price gaps and bottlenecks. Prepared value chain of Nagali.

 Stakeholders mapping and power-interest matrix, Prepared a  Social Business Model for proposed idea of Enterprise for Inclusive Value chain to benefit farmers.

 

Data Analysis of National Family Health Survey-4 Data |Prof Amit Arora| IIT Bombay

 Mapped NFHS-4 data of malnutrition for Madhya Pradesh state to analyse interstate and Intra state status of Malnutrition in children using QGIS

 Performed Tukey, Fisher and Bonferroni tests on NFHS-4 data with 25+ features using MINITAB to compare variation in wasting, stunting and anaemia condition. 

 

Tapping the Potential of cashew apple refinery in Maharashtra |Prof. Amit Arora | IIT Bombay

 Analysed techno-economic feasibility of use of ethanol from cashew apple as cooking fuel.  Analysed the market and designed a Social business framework ( Business model) for 60KPLD bio-ethanol plant for processing 613k tonnes of cashew apple in Ratnagiri district of Konkan region.

 

Evaluation of CSR policy and Company's CSR activity| Prof. S.B. Agnihotri | IIT Bombay 

 Evaluated CSR policy for HPCL and Oil India Ltd on the basis of Company Act, 2013 for three years                                             

 Analysed and represented the trend of CSR investment from 2014- 2017 

 Studied for discrepancy in data on MoCA portal with the expenditure shown in the annual reports of the company 

 

Innovative Financial Models for Affordable Housing Segment | Prof. S K Jha | IIT Bombay

 Literature review of  Current housing deficit in India, available housing options and access to home finance for Lower Income Groups (LIGs) and economically weaker sections (EWS).      Stakeholder analysis, Power Interest Matrix, recommended measures to increase accessibility to  home financing to EWS and LIGs.
