Currently a Master student in Technology and Development under CTARA, IIT Bombay. Moreover, working as a first-year fellow with UNICEF, in the field of Maternal and Child Nutrition. I have also been selected for the Student Exchange Program at Hiroshima University, Japan for Integrated Research (Dec 2019 – Feb 2020). My current domain of interest is in Nutrition and Food Science along with Nutrition Security through Agriculture. I completed Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. Hons) from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg in Civil Engineering. I have completed a field internship under the Public Works Department (PWD) Raipur in 2016-17. I, along with a group of 5 fellow interns worked with Bridgeworks department under which we analyzed the structure and construction process of first-ever Arch Bridge of Chhattisgarh. Apart from that, I also worked on two ongoing projects of Railway Under-Bridge and Over-Bridge. As a part of the project, I analyzed and summarized the construction process, specifications, material requirements and difficulties for the three projects. Furthermore for the undergraduate project, I conducted laboratory experiments to analyze the efficacy of five home-made water treatment methods for treating industrial wastewater.
Apart from academics, I am an avid reader and have also completed a six-month content writing internship (May-Oct 2018) with StarWords India where I wrote 100+ articles on travel, food, books, and people.
- Conducted household survey of 90 households using ODK and KOBO, Focussed Group Discussions & Participatory Rural Appraisal using OSM Geo-Location Tracker.
- Designed questionnaire & dietary recall of 36 children (6-24 months), 36 mothers & 12 pregnant women and assessed daily nutritional intake using 'Ntutive Calculator' and 'Nutrify India Now' app.
- Evaluated the correlation of socio-economic factors with dietary diversity scores of mother and children and performed non-parametric tests using STATA & MINITAB to verify field observation: ‘Milk intake of child depends on presence of livestock’
- Identified the behavioral and socio-economic barriers to follow IYCF guidelines through survey of frontline workers (AWW, ASHA and ANM) along with elderly & pregnant women & adolescent girls.
- Conducted cost-benefit analysis for Ferro-cement tank, RCC and SINTEX Tank to propose rain-water harvesting to solve water scarcity in the village.
- Analyzed annual reports of the past five years of work of CFNS in Assam & Rajasthan
- Assisted in documenting the future interventions under Poshan Abhiyaan for aspirational districts of Assam, Rajasthan and West Bengal
- Contributed in annual meeting and workshops organized by Coalition for Food & Nutrition Security in Delhi
To analyze the effect of non-veg food intake on nutritional status of children through DHS–4 data [Jan’19-Apr’19]
- Assessed impact of intake non-veg vs veg food on anthropometric data of children using propensity score matching, average treatment effect & weighted regression through critical evaluation of NFHS-4 Data.
- Included various socio-economic factors to assess their cumulative impact on the child’s nutritional status.
- Significant results showing the positive impact of non-veg food intake were identified from the study.
To analyze the status of Malnutrition in Bihar along with a comparison to neighboring states [Jan’19-Apr’19]
- Compared variations in wasting, stunting, the underweight status of children & anemia condition in Bihar with neighboring states by Tukey, Fischer & Bonferroni tests on NFHS-4 data using STATA & MINITAB.
- Mapped and identified best performing and worst-performing districts of Bihar using QGIS.
Design of water supply and sanitation system for Vadgaon Maval [Jan’19-Apr’19]
- Worked on a live project in Vadgaon Maval town to design efficient water supply and sanitation system.
- Performed a topographical survey of the town to identify the elevation of roads & residential areas.
- Designed for water demand of the town for the next 20 years using EPANET and Sewergems.
CSR: Policy Evaluation & Analysis of Cochin Shipyard, Dredging Corporation of India & Kamarajar Port Ltd. [Jul’18-Nov’18]
- Performed data analysis of expenditure using Tableau, based on sectoral & spatial information ('14-'17).
- Concluded that 100% of the CSR expenditure is regionally concentrated around the PSU.
Analysis of Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) change of Chhattisgarh [Jul’18-Nov’18]
- Performed proximity analysis by creating a vector layer of district-level forest survey data in ArcGIS & QGIS.
- Estimated district wise net change in rainfall pattern, forest cover, cultivable land, and net sown area.
- Outlined that industrialization, urbanization, and mining as major cause of changing land use pattern.
